Our English Speaking guide will meet you at your Vientiane City Area Hotel lobby at 8 am. Your first stop will be Wat Si Saket.
Wat Sisaket was built in the early 19th Century as his own private monastery but just a few years after it was finished, Vientiane was destroyed by invaders. Wat Si Saket was built in the Siamese style of Buddhist architecture, with a surrounding terrace and an ornate five-tiered roof, rather than in the Lao style.
Next, you’ll proceed to Ho Phra Keo or Wat Ho Phakeo. Ho Phra Keo (or Haw Phra Kaew) is a former Buddhist shrine dating back to 1565 – today, it serves as a museum of religious arts in Vientiane. It is a beautiful temple that used to house the famous emerald Buddha for over 200 years – the Buddha is now in Thailand.
Next you’ll head to Great Sacred Stupa (Pha That Luang). The Pha That Luang or “Great Stupa” is the most important Buddhist monument in Laos. The large golden stupa in Vientiane is believed to enshrine a breast bone of the Buddha.
Next, you’ll visit to Patuxai. Patuxai is a massive war monument and triumphal arch in the center of Vientiane, Laos. It was completed in 1968, using funds donated by the United States.

Next you’ll head to Vat That Khao. This is a very large, impressive temple complex that is the ‘must see’ stop in Vientiane. Wat That Khao ; “Temple of the White Reliquary” is a ruined temple in the Wiang Kum Kam archaeological site, south of Chiang Mai in northern Thailand, thought to have been built in the 16th or 17th century.
Next, you’ll visit to Buddha Park. One of the top attractions in Vientiane is Buddha Park. Buddha Park is a park full of interesting mostly concrete statues and scenes from Buddhist mythology.
At approximately 5:00 pm, guide will drop you off at the meeting point or your hotel in Vientiane where the Private Vientiane City Tour will end.
